Finally! I Get To Answer The Important Questions!

I’ve been tagged, and now I’m It!! Seeing all of you out there tagging each other over the months, I was beginning to despair that I would ever be included in the games…Until today! Originalapplejunkie has tagged me, and now I get to obsess over my answers to these all-important questions. It’s shaping up to be a good day for Bird!

Being tagged..I am now required to answer the following questions and tag some of my fellow bloggers in my

Descendant of Robert the Bruce.

post

1. Describe yourself in 7 words.

I hate that I’m related to Robert-the-Bruce. I’m counting Robert-the-Bruce as one word, because I included hypens…sue me.

2. What keeps you up at night?

My broken brain. I always have a ton of things I’m thinking about at any given time, and there just doesn’t seem to be enough time in a day to work all these things out.

3. Who would you like to be?

It’s taken me a long time to be who I am today. I am happy with just being myself.

4. What are you wearing right now?

I’m wearing Hello Kitty! fuzzy shorts, and a white t-shirt…

5. What scares you?

The only thing that scares me is a person who gives up the fight in themselves to control their baser instincts, and embraces pure evil. The beginning of most appeals start with the innocuous words, ” The defendant and his friend went to the convenience store to buy some beer…” and they end with the most horrendous acts one person can perpetrate on to another human being. People scare me.

6. The best and worst of blogging.

The best thing I find about blogging is that it helps me organize the jumbled up thoughts and opinions that go through my head, and gives me an outlet to become a cautionary tale to others that might take my advice, and escape some of the hard lessons I have had to to learn the hard way.

The worst thing about blogging is the vulnerability I feel when I am not sure if what I’ve just written will ruin my reputation forever in the eyes of people that I admire.

7. The last website I visited.

Facebook. That’s right. I said it…I’m a Facebook troll.

8. What is one thing I would change about myself?

There are a lot of things that I’m still working out about myself, and thankfully, God is helping me. But I guess if I could only pick one, I’d say I’d like to stop smoking cigarettes. They are simultaneously my favorite and most despised habit ever.

9. Slankets. Yes or No?

I had to look up the slanket, which around here, is known as a Snuggie. I’m going to say yes to the slanket. I love to be comfortable…

10. Tell us something about the person that tagged you.

OriginalAppleJunkie writes up-beat, happy, personal pieces about her life abroad. There are a few bloggers out there that I feel like I know in person, and she is definitely one of them. She is allergic to almost every food there is out there, yet she love to cook, and every time she enters her kitchen to create a new culinary delight, she takes her own life in her hands…lol. I just love brave people!!

Now here are the blogs I will tag! I know some of them probably won’t play our little game, and the fact that I only get to pick a few bums me out because there are several people I follow with baited breath, but rules are rules, so here goes:

Brave Fish – This is the site that calms me down most days. He is poetical, smart, and spiritual. I just love this place. And he is always there to pick me up when I’m having a hard time with something. He’s become my friend.

Chief of the Least – For a Christian girl, I’ve heard all the same sermons all my life. Yet, at this site, Chief always has something new to teach me, without me having to pull out a dictionary to keep up. And he is obviously not trying to portray the Perfect Christian image — I mean, the man watches The Walking Dead. So, I don’t feel judged when I ask a question…You have to check this guy’s site out.

If I Die Before I Sleep – This girl’s site is extremely interesting, somewhat edgy, and I’ve cried a few times when I’ve read what she wrote. She’s the proof that there are real monsters going bump in the night.

Terry 1954 – I recognize something in this woman’s writing that resonates through my soul. Her writing style reminds me of my mother’s writing, and because her life mirrors Mom’s in so many respects, I always feel a little closer to my mother after reading her posts.

The Fight of My Life – Living with Traumatic Brain Injury – The thing that stands out to me about this woman’s site is the fact that while this horrible thing has happened, she can still laugh and smile through her tears. This is a quality I respect and admire.

Facebook Fails – Seriously. These people have no idea who I am, and I’m positive they never will. But there is something infinitely funny about reading what people write on their Facebook pages…I’m not even going to bother letting them know I’ve tagged them..I just wanted you guys to have a good laugh today.

Mew Tube – This site has an In-Your-Face quality that I wouldn’t recommend to the faint of heart. He isn’t writing a Christian Life Blog, so if you offend easily, steer clear. The reason I recommend him, however, is that there are some posts I’ve found he has written that blow my mind. He’s had a hard life, and how he’s dealing with it is admirable and interesting. Plus, he is a fantastic writer. But again, only check it out if you don’t freak out easily.

If I didn’t include your site, please don’t be offended. I could write about all the sites I follow with a quick excerpt of why I follow them, but it would take forever, and most people wouldn’t bother to read down to the bottom of my list…If I comment on your stuff, then you are an interesting read!!

Thanks, you Apple Junkie!! This was fun!

  1. Bird I love this post. I feel such a kinship with you. You write about real life and aren’t afraid to tell people about yourself. I find that brave. It’s okay to be a FB troll. I am one myself. It’s how I got my start in writing. All those damn status updates of mine brought out a dear friend that I haven’t seen in 25 years. She told me I had a gift, that I should share it. And look, I did. I found this whole new community of people just like me. You being one of them. I find that’s how God works don’t you? We get these epiphanies and then we get to decide whether or not we’ll follow through on them. So I for one am happy that we found each other and that you have a broken brain like mine. It makes for the most interesting blog posts. Learning about you makes me learn more about me. I like that a lot!
